Extra Royal with Cheese
As even the guys in the back already know by now: The Royal Oak is arguably the most recognisable and memorable work of the pen of Gerald Genta and changed the watch industry for ever!
Now over 50 years old, the family of 'Oaks have expended from simple time only watches to a wide range of sizes, case materials, complications and even high - complicated watches , up to 500 different versions today! However this one completely dates back the roots, the OG Jumbo reference 5402ST.
Since this is an early “C” series, it still has its AP logo applied at the six o'clock position, “Swiss” only writing and the super fine “Bleu Nuit 1 N50 colour on the dial (so called by Dial maker Stern Frères). -N50 stands for "Nuage (cloud) No. 50" and corresponds to the black colour Number 50.
The tritium lume remains in lovely original condition and the tapisserie surface turned to a semi-gloss honey gold colour, which gives a unique feel on the wrist.
These small tapesserie dials were handmade by special machinery and have a crazy amount of detailing, if one looks through a loupe ,If You ever get the chance try it !
The Octagonal case is in a lovely sharp condition and original shape as well the integrated bracelet is in great condition and fits wrists up to 18.5 cm.
This one comes with an Audemars Piguet watch winder, the AP Certificate D’authenticité stating a sale in 1977, as well an Ap signed inner and outer box set and is fully serviced by our watchmaker
