Sadly dying behind the wheel, Jo Siffert was an iconic driver who was immortalised in his death. His impact on Formula One was outsized for his 9 years in the championship and lead to major safety overhauls which have no doubt saved the lives of many of his colleagues in years to follow. He was also a well known Heuer wearer, to the extent that the blue and white have become colloquially referred to as ‘Siffert' Colours. This Autavia was not the same model as worn by Jo but was introduced following his death, very likely as a nod to the driver.
